Summer signings to take us to the next level
What positions would be on your wish list?

I would say a good backup left back for cressy
2 strikers to replace emenike and valencia
Someone to partner oggy
A dm in place of song and another central midfilder to replace noble

Completely agree we just need a striker who can play 30+ games a season would be a good start...

But by the sounds of it, it's all in hand with a striker shortlist and tore looking likely

Re: Summer signings to take us to the next level
I'd spend most of our budget on two players A bullet proof striker that can play more than 5 games without being out for 6 weeks
A top drawer wide man
A couple of reserve fullbacks

Get Bilic to sweet talk him into the new project

Thought that would be the case.

He's still only young but his potential is huge. Really don't want him to go to the Mancs!

"I watched some of the CL game last night and Renato Sanches looks like an absolute baller!!

18 year old Midfielder but all the big clubs must be interested after that performance. "

Man United will pay £40 mill for him if you believe rumours

Loads of news feeds here and abroad saying Man Utd head the the queue with a bid of £40m

Bit out of our league still

Funny isn't it you've not been able to NAME one club that has refreshed their squad by this CHEAP option of youth.

The cheap option is of course the best IF it's the same as the more expensive option but ONLY you it seems thinks clubs refresh their squad this way and that's why you can't name these teams despite claiming there are many.

Am sure we are going to buy some established talent but I do like the fact that we will have the likes of Samuelsen, Martinez and Nordvijet at the club .. The future looks good

Sadly, it's in very short supply for some on here.

Yaya Toure?
Definitely off in the summer.

If two options are equal, but one is cheaper of course that's the best option.

That's not profound, it's common sense.

Sorry, you're wrong. Lots of clubs do it"

and yet you fail to name ANY

"actually the cheapest option is ALWAYS the best option, as long as those options are equal."

Hahahahaha do you actually think about what you're posting before you press post?

Re: Summer signings to take us to the next level
I have come to the conclusion that V is best ignored entirely - clearly either deliberately casting rancid bait or barking.

Seems a pleasant enough bloke and does not insult people directly but unquestionably talks certifiable gash.

On to the matter in hand, first, what is this 'next level' of which the OP speaks? I am minded that some of the suggestions on here are out of V's full moon envelope.

Frankly, if we can reproduce anything like this season within the next three it will represent a HUGE leap forward.

Positions for next year? we need a RB and Striker as the club have identified but what we need more than anything else, is to retain the five or six that we have that would improve most if not all others - thats whats excersising my mind.

>>> and YET NOT ONE CLUB DOES IT.........

Sorry, you're wrong. Lots of clubs do it, and everyone is trying to. It's the entire reason for having a youth policy.

>>> Yep it may be the cheapest option but cheapest is rarely best.

In a business, or in any game dependent on finance, actually the cheapest option is ALWAYS the best option, as long as those options are equal. Again, I am talking in principle, as it's impossible to judge any two players against each other as exact equals.

But actually there are other benefits of choosing youth I think, in terms of loyalty, cheaper contracts generally, and the growing importance of homegrown players. In fact, I believe homegrown players are going to become absolutely crucial in the prem in the next few years.
